Slum Campaigning
The Tree Plantation initiative by Vidhyadaan Foundation is an ongoing effort to instill environmental responsibility and a love for nature in our students. Each year, we engage students in the protection and nurturing of numerous trees, assigning specific grades as tree caretakers who diligently look after the trees, especially during the harsh summer months. Our approach is holistic and empathetic, emphasizing the importance of trees and their well-being.
Founder Rutu Shah passionately educates students about the emotional connection to nature, making it clear that harming a tree is as serious as causing pain to a living being. This lesson is reinforced with the idea that every broken leaf or branch causes real suffering, akin to human pain. Additionally, our students actively participate in painting the trees, adding a creative and personal touch to their environmental stewardship.
This activity not only beautifies the surroundings but also strengthens the bond between the children and the trees they care for. Through this program, students who were previously indifferent learn to appreciate and care for trees. Our commitment extends beyond planting—we ensure that each tree is maintained and thrives, reflecting our dedication to a greener, healthier environment.
